My main outlet is the singles market. Submitting batches of mainly black and white cartoons to magazines such as PUNCH, PRIVATE EYE, The SPECTATOR etc,.

My style has changed somewhat over the years, and developed into what some have called 'instantly recognisable' and very 'stylised'.

These days, I generally use a PILOT HI-TECPOINT with an 0.7mm nib to draw directly onto the paper, occasionally using a loose pencilled framework with which to layout the main features of a cartoon. I may also employ a grey watercolour wash or apply mechanical tone to a finished drawing should I think it needs it.

For colour work I tend to use marker pens, to pick out the main detail, and coloured pencil crayon. I also use watercolours and acrylics, and for some of the cartoons featured on this website, COREL PHOTO HOUSE 3.
